Family GIFT (Growing in Faith Together) is the name of our family formation program for children in kindergarten through fifth grade and their parents. At GIFT, parents and children learn about a new topic each session, each at their own level. By learning together, families are better able to discuss, reinforce, and live out the facts of their faith as well as a Christian lifestyle.
The Family GIFT Program is offered on the following days/times:
There are usually 13 sessions of GIFT running September through April/May. A link to the GIFT Calendar is available at the bottom of this page.
If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected] or call 248-243-0252.
Note: No one will be denied participation in our programs due to financial concerns.
MSP is for students in grades 6-8. The MSP program is designed to cover a comprehensive list of topics to prepare for Confirmation, which takes place in the spring of eighth grade. As such, it is important for students to attend all three years to have the most complete formation possible. Attendance at these sessions is required for all those planning to be confirmed unless they are enrolled in Catholic school.
All sessions meet on Wednesdays 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
A link to the MSP Calendar is available at the bottom of this page. You can register and make a payment on line.
If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected] or call 248-243-0252.

We welcome children in grades 2 and up to begin preparation for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. Children in grades 7 and up may begin preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation.
Children who attend public school and wish to prepare for the reception of sacraments for the first time are expected to participate in the GIFT program, or in the Middle School Program (as appropriate). Sacrament Registration will occur as part of the online GIFT and/or MSP registration.
Children who attend Catholic school and are members of St. Mary’s must enroll in our sacrament preparation program, click below for registration information. Please note: if you registered your child in the Confirmation program last year, you do NOT need to fill out another sacrament registration form.
To complete registration in the sacrament program, please bring a copy of your child’s baptism certificate to the Religious Formation office at St. Mary of the Hills unless your child was baptized at St. Mary of the Hills. If your child was baptized at another church, please contact them and ask that they send you a copy of the certificate. Your child will not be enrolled in the program until we have a baptism certificate on file.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word
This program is offered at the 9 AM & 11 AM Mass each Sunday. Children in grades K-5 are dismissed just prior to the start of Mass to hear the readings and message at their level. There is no charge and no need to register for Children's Liturgy of the Word.Welcome to the St. Mary's Youth Group (aka SMYG) page. I’m Chris Kozlowski, and I’m the youth minister at St. Mary of the Hills and have served in this capacity since 1998. We sincerely hope you choose to journey with SMYG during your high school years. Before making any decision, please take a minute to answer these three questions.
I assume if you are like me, you answered YES to each of the above questions. If so, I believe SMYG can be part of the answer. SMYG is open to any high school student and we meet every Wednesday during the school year from 7-9 PM. Along with fun and charitable activities, SMYG spends time each week reflecting on scripture from the upcoming Sunday's Mass, and we have a great time while doing it! I currently have kids of my own in the program and I truly look forward to meeting you sometime soon. It continues to be an honor to journey with the amazing youth of St. Mary's.
The easiest way to stay in the loop on all things SMYG is to sign up to REMIND. REMIND is for both parents and students and notifies the group of SMYG happenings for the week. REMINDs are typically sent out once a week, on Monday at 7 PM. Sign up takes less than a minute; quickly sign up by texting @smyg22-23 to the number 81010.
Blessings,
Chris Kozlowski
