RECONCILIATION The Sacrament of Reconciliation celebrates the fact that we can be forgiven at all times. It is the outward sign by which we celebrate an always merciful forgiving God, and how we renew our relationship with Him and His people. Reconciliation is a sacrament of continuing growth--growth in closeness to God and deepening oneness with our community. The candidate of this Sacrament needs awareness that he/she has caused disharmony (sin) and needs to ask forgiveness. Children enrolled in the First Eucharist Program are encouraged to celebrate Reconciliation prior to receiving the Eucharist. Older students are welcome to celebrate the Sacrament for the first time if they have not done so. Immediate preparation will NOT take place during regular religious education classes [GIFT]. Each year the parish will provide a special immediate preparation session for the parent(s) of each candidate. This class is designed to support, educate, and provide materials so the parent(s) of the candidate can properly assist in their child's immediate preparation and celebration of the sacrament. Further details will be provided, via email, following your enrollment.
