St. Mary of the Hills Marriage Enrichment Ministry is designed to help marriages to become more meaningful and rewarding by offering programs and tools to help couples strengthen their marriage relationship.

Last Sunday, St. Mary’s hosted our third annual Marriage Anniversary Mass with 57 couples who will be celebrating a milestone anniversary in 2012.  Each of these couples, married anywhere from 5 years up to 60 years, is a beautiful example of the love and commitment a great marriage takes.  After the Mass, a special reception was held for all those present.  A very big thank you goes to the following individuals for helping to make this day special for the anniversary couples and their guests:
Judy Kozlowski for the wonderful job she did putting together the display of all the wedding pictures, The Knights of Columbus Color Guard for escorting our guests to their reserved pews, Elizabeth Hundiak for taking the photos of our guests as they arrived, Holly Foldessy along with her husband, Glenn and her daughter, Madison for putting together the beautiful flower arrangements and decorations in the church as well as in the gym, Dave and Patricia Kalis, Marlene DeBrosse, Bob and Margaret Sheldrick, Elizabeth and Alessa Atallah, Nawal Cook, Ken, Noah, and Sam Corrion, Maru Ehms, Ed Ratzenberger, and Jerry and Nancy Richter for greeting our guests, helping to set up the reception, serving at the reception, and helping to clean up.  Because of each of these parishioner’s generous actions, this event was a huge success!   

Deacon Bob Ovies, former Director of the Archdiocesan Office for Family Life, will be hosting the “Hungry for God” series here at St. Mary’s! For six consecutive Thursdays during Lent, beginning Thursday, February 23, you will have the opportunity to begin experiencing a closer and more personal love relationship with God. The six sessions of the series include: Hungry for the Love of God, Hungry for Salvation, Hungry for God’s Plan for My Life, Hungry for Jesus, Hungry for the Power to Forgive, and Hungry for Faith and the Holy Spirit. I encourage you to save the dates on your calendar and plan on attending this six week Lenten Spiritual Renewal Series. Make the decision to “place your attention” on becoming closer to God this Lenten season.
