"The secret to a happy marriage: Make it your daily goal to have a marriage more beautiful than your wedding."   - Unknown

As I observe my niece plan her upcoming wedding I can’t help but remember my own wedding 28 years ago. I loved every minute leading up to it . . . choosing my dress, ordering the cake, writing out the invitations, selecting our vows and doing everything possible to make sure it was the most beautiful day ever! I remember poring over every Bride’s magazine I could find and reading all the ideas and suggestions to make sure it happened! I guess that is why the above quote spoke to me. Just imagine what would happen if everyone who entered into marriage made it their daily goal to “have a marriage more beautiful than their wedding.” Just as planning for a beautiful wedding takes a lot of time and effort, the same holds true for “planning a beautiful marriage.” Good marriages don’t just happen. They take time and effort. Fortunately, there are a lot of great resources available to help achieve that goal. The following are just a few.

Foryourmarriage.org-This Catholic website not only has great articles on marriage, but there are also articles on dating and parenting.

Marriagemissions.com-This Christian marriage website seeks to help those who are married and those preparing for marriage to be pro-active in helping to save marriage from divorce and to enrich it by offering inspirational, skill-building information.

Exceptionalmarriages.com-Dedicated to providing the resources religiously-committed Catholics need to live more faithful and abundant marriage, family, and personal lives.

Healthymarriagetips.com-Visit the website to view the Healthy Marriage Pamphlet Series which are designed to teach couples the research-based skills and knowledge that can help them form and sustain a healthy marriage.

Please be aware that not all of these sites are written from a Catholic perspective, but I found that many of their articles are well worth reading.

Have a beautiful week!
