Marriage Enrichment St. Mary of the Hills Marriage Enrichment Ministry is designed to help marriages to become more meaningful and rewarding by offering programs and tools to help couples strengthen their marriage relationship. “They say it takes a village to raise a child. That may be the case, but the truth is that it takes a lot of solid, stable marriages to create a village.” ~Diane Sollee, smartmarriages.com Here at St. Mary of the Hills we are very blessed to have a pastor who understands the importance of helping married and engaged couples build strong marriages by offering them some tools to succeed. One of these “tools” is our Marriage Mentor program. Through this program, engaged couples get a chance to experience direct couple-to-couple sharing of the sacred- human reality which is the Sacrament of Marriage. Mentor couples share their wisdom as well as their experiences in dealing with such things as communication, in-laws, finances, etc.. Currently, we have 10 trained Mentor Couples. We would love to double that number! If you’re a seasoned, experienced couple that is relatively happy—not perfect, not infallible, but relatively happy and satisfied with your relationship—you have all the qualifications you need to become a Marriage Mentor. You just need to have lived, experienced a few failures and learned a few lessons. Training will be provided. I encourage you to help St. Mary’s build “solid, stable marriages” by becoming a Mentor Couple. Topics will include budgeting, investing, paying for your children’s college, getting out of debt, and developing a closer relationship with the Lord. Watch the bulletin for more details.
