First Reconciliation and First Eucharist These activities are meant to engage children in a positive way while reinforcing what they are learning about the sacraments. The goal is to make the activities fun, enjoyable, and, at the same time, reverent and rewarding. We hope you enjoy using them in this same spirit.
Progression: The activities move from section to section in progression: foundational rules that lead us to God (section 1); acknowledgement of our need to forgive and be forgiven (section 2); confessions that leads to reconciliation (section 3); and avoiding temptation (section 4). You may choose, however, to use these activities in whatever order best serves your needs. Section 1: WE ARE FAMILY Section 2: SOMETIMES WE FAIL Section 3: WE CONFESS AND ARE FORGIVEN Section 4: WE TRY HARDER FIRST EUCHARIST Progression: The activities move from section to section in a progression based on the Mass, first establishing that we are baptized into God's family and we celebrate as family. The last activity in section 4 refers to the Dismissal and emphasizes living as a Christian throughout the week. You may choose, however, to use the activities in whatever order best serves your needs.
