Ministry Corner

If you light a lamp for somebody, it will also brighten your path.”
                                      ~Buddhist Saying

The following is an opportunity for you to “light a lamp for somebody.”  Please prayerfully consider helping this gentleman.  Remember, by doing so you will “brighten your own path.”

Due to an auto accident, a parishioner here at St. Mary's must see various doctors several times a week.  Unfortunately he is unable to drive himself to these appointments.  His physicians are located in Troy, Southfield, Royal Oak, Sterling Hts., and Detroit.  The appointments are anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 hours.  A team of volunteers is needed to help this gentleman out by driving him to and from some of his appointments.

If you are able to donate your time for any of our ministries, please contact Laura Corrion at 248 853 5390X117 or at laurac@smoth.org.

If you currently are a volunteer in one of our ministries and your email has changed, please let us know:   UPDATE EMAIL

Fun Activities in the Month of November

Saturday, November 8 the Knights of Columbus are hosting an adult evening featuring the play Late Night Catechism.  If you and your spouse are long overdue for a date this would be the perfect evening to leave the kids at home and take some time for just the two of you!

For all the hunting widows of the parish as well as those of you who would like to make some new friends here at St. Mary’s, Peggy Casing is hosting a Progressive Dinner on Sunday, November 16.  What is great about this evening is that you can go alone but you are guaranteed to always have someone to talk with!

And because we all know that “girls just want to have fun” on Friday, November 21, St. Mary’s is having their first Ladies Night Out event.  Who can resist an evening of shopping, food, and friends?

Lastly, on Sunday, November 23, our annual Advent by Candlelight program will take place.  This is a beautiful evening of candlelight, music, and reflection for the women of the parish.
