GIFT
(Growing In Faith Together)
To continue a discussion from a GIFT session or to
ask a question, please go to our blog:
Continuing the Conversation
Each month, in the second week of the month, GIFT
sessions are held for all parishioners in the parish. The meal,
topic and individual breakout sessions are addressed to specific needs.
Scripture is incorporated in these topics and there are discussion as
well as other opportunities for sharing our faith. Adults of all
ages continue to deepen their relationship with Christ and His Church.
GIFT is the primary
formation program for children and adults alike! Children who attend public school and wish
to receive sacraments for the first time are expected to participate in
the GIFT program.
This year our overall theme is "Fulfillment in
Christ". Registration is now taking place for Fall 2008.
Sessions are offered one week per
month, generally the second full week of the month. Participants choose
to attend one day, either Sunday 12:15 - 3:15 pm (new time), Sunday 4-7 pm; Wednesday
6-9 pm (our high school friendly night); or Friday 6-9 pm.
If you have any
questions regarding registration, please call the RE Office at
248-844-8662.

Free Tuition for Your Family!
Would you like to attend GIFT without cost to you? We are
happy to waive the material fees for anyone willing to make the
commitment to facilitate at least five breakout sessions of GIFT.
Of course you’d still have to pay for your meals if you’ll be eating
with us, and for children’s sacrament supplies… but this is a great way
of reducing expenses, helping your faith community and sharing your
faith! There are other benefits as well. Many facilitators
find this type of sharing to be very rewarding, both because they feel
they have performed a needed task, and because they learn and grow
in their faith at the same time. To find out more,
please email our
Director of Religious Education.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING
ABOUT GIFT:
- The gift
program this year is the best information to enlighten me on Peace &
Justice and our role as Christians. I am 74 years old (soon 75 yr.) and
know that I learn more about my faith in theses sessions every time.
Our Children have long since been on their own but, I am confident that
they would have learned & retained more in the gift program than the
old CCD classes that they had back then. I can honestly say that
children and their parents today will benefit from the gift program and
grow in faith at any age. (JB)
- I
am warming up to the family format. Obviously, I also required a renewal
of my faith and a chance to engage constructively in my faith. The GIFT
program is better than traditional student aged faith based religious
ed. (Anonymous)
